again\

my yesterdays came back to haunt me.. in particular the first half of this year when i was abroad.

i did not particularly wanted to reminisce about them again as i find myself unconsciously and consciously thinking about them on and off... which sometimes make me feel like im spending too much time just thinking about the past... move on, the present and the future are before you!

surprisingly the meditation course i took in school(meant as research for osim project with mr woo and hun) came kinda handy. we were taught to acknowledge a thought, not to dismiss or repel it out of our minds forcefully. Just acknowledge it, and let it pass.

So here i am..

1. wanted to change my wall paper to that of my past sketching works done in holland (which i liked rather very much) but decided against it.. well.. nice but yeah.. it might just put me in a mode of The Past. So the current one stays.

(the colours are kinda wrong here btw.. something to do with the colour mode)

2. Was listening to this album of italian songs that i always listened to when i was in holland... kinda nice..(well, didnt choose it becus i wana reminisce but rather they r really nice n soothing) then wanted another playlist to go along.. instead of choosing yet another playlist which would again easily be reminiscent of the routine music in nl i listen to.. (which would be jack johnson or the beatles) i chose this really random playlist i made very long ago..(when 'hips don't lie' by black eyed peas were still hip).. and it was... surprisingly delightful.. like a old familiar scent that was tucked away and almost forgotten and now feels like a renewed breath of fresh air.

i like to think that i am starting to manage this better.

and perhaps break my sleepy curse.

music to my ears

btw i wana buy a guitar! (the same one as amanda! ) (:
to my slight horror today at a ghastly 7.33pm,

i discovered i might have been thinking in words.

than the pictures i had initially thought.

just that somehow the visuals are quick, immediate enough to be translated from those string of exotic sounding abcs....

or is it?

not?

Pronounce "SCHEVENINGEN".

As I was reading up on some dutch culture for my design case study... I came upon this paragraph that talked about the Dutch language.

"Many visitors mistakenly think that the Dutch language comes from German. This is absolutely incorrect, and is even considered insulting by many Dutch and German speakers. Dutch is a Germanic language, but is still very different; it is definitely NOT easy for Germans to speak Dutch, or vice versa. Example: during the war, some Germans hiding in Holland pretended to be Dutch. Many of them were caught when they were asked to pronounce the word SCHEVENINGEN (a sea side resort near The Hague). The popular belief was that it is impossible for Germans to pronounce this word correctly (also impossible for English speakers!), and so that's how they were caught. "

This reminded me of the same example this dutch guy whom I shared a train cabin told me about. (Hun, if you remembered, I asked to ride with this rather cute guy with a discount pass to go home fr your Delft.) It was fun cuz he was quite easy to talk to, raised this example after I told him how difficult it was to learn Dutch. Then when he mentioned Scheveningen it was quite coincidental too cuz i had just visited that beach with hun on that same trip. Quite unfortunately, I think I might have made another friend(since we could chat quite well, he was from Tu/e too but engineering and doing his masters, had an exchange internship in India. cool.), but I walked the other way without being able to say bye to him cuz the crowds quickly separated us though we alighted the same stop.

So... yeah. the point is... sometimes potential friendships just slip off like that.

decision making

i think i havent been making good decisions these days...

its times like this i wish someone has told me ' u should do this.. that'

but i guess i am supposed to find out myself.

i hope its not too late to find that out... or if theres reversible process to undo certain things and change the course of route and outcome eventually.

better late than never,
Right?

btw, i read some horoscope lately and it seems that libra-ns are so impractical because 'they seek balance which is impossible in this world'.

Thanks for enlightening me. something i seem to already know but still am guilty of.
